Strong education or experience background in business/management and five years in private sector or non-profit organization. Working knowledge of economic development, local and state governmental process required. Background and knowledge of small business operations preferred. The person in this position is comfortable being the face and the main spokesperson of the Chamber. Excellent “people skills” applied to staff, members, and visitors is required. This position values ongoing professional development and related networking opportunities amongst peers in the Chamber management profession and regional, statewide, and national Chamber support organizations.
The President is responsible for the overall policy implementation of the Chamber Board of Directors and the day-to-day management of the organization. Oversees the staffing and supervision of the staff. Supports the Chair of the Board and Executive Committee. Serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and is ex-officio member of all committees of the Chamber. President is a voting member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
